Please find below the questions for the Renewal Application. These questions will comprise 30% of the school’s score in the overall community school contract renewal process and focus on three phases: pre-pandemic performance, pandemic impact and performance, and the governing authority’s plan for recovering from pandemic learning loss. These questions should be answered by the governing authority. The questions provide the governing authority an opportunity to qualify its legislative and moral responsibility to act as stewards of public education dollars for the State of Ohio. As stewards of these public resources, it is your responsibility to ensure that your school is an effective and efficient public school. The governing authority has no other responsibility.
When you read the questions make sure to consider all of the resources, assessments, evaluations, and reports that you have received over the term of the charter such as: reports from superintendents, management organizations, on-site assistance reviews, compliance reports and special education reviews from your sponsor, audits from outside agencies, and annual management company evaluations. Then describe how you used this information to ensure that your school was effective and efficient. Again, these questions are not about how the operators of your school performed, but rather how did you perform your responsibilities, and how you will continue to perform your responsibilities if given a new term.
The application should be completed by October 28 and will be scored in conjunction with the high stakes renewal reports.
