      • Governance and Oversight

        The governing authority plays a vital role in the school’s success and future existence. The governing authority sets policies, establishes the budget, is the fiduciary agent, and is responsible for compliance with the community school contract and applicable local, state and federal laws. The governing authority of the school is the responsible entity and Ohio Revised Code requires no fewer than five (5) board members.

To receive a “Meets”, all information must be provided, school must have maintained a positive change in net position, and have at least 30 days of cash on hand. If necessary, provide an explanation of any of the financials in the box below.

If the Auditor of State has identified findings for recovery, please provide details below describing how these findings have been resolved.                     • As part of the application process, five (5) years of five-year forecasts submitted by the school to the Ohio Department of Education will be collected by CSS and reviewed.                                     3. Describe the type of transportation provided such as: a) the school owns the bus and employs drivers, b) the school contracts with an ODE approved vendor, c) the school provides bus passes, etc.
